Planning and Effectiveness staff support University stakeholders in all aspects of planning and quality assurance:
- Development and implementation of the MTSU Strategic Plan
- Development and implementation of Quality Enhancement Plans to improve student learning and student success
- Data resources and analyses for institutional effectiveness as well as required state, federal, accreditor, and other external reports
- Institutional and program assessment of effectiveness
- Compliance reporting for programmatic and institutional accreditors
- Academic disclosures for compliance with state and federal regulations

Responsibilities: Assist with SACSCOC compliance certification reports, substantive change requests, and the Quality Enhancement Plan; coordinate professional licensure disclosures and other Academic Affairs reporting required by federal regulations; lead Academic Affairs efforts in support of the Carnegie Community Engagement classification; and collaborate with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness Planning, and Research.

Institutional Effectiveness and Planning provides support for accreditation, program reviews, quality assurance funding, Institutional Effectiveness planning, the MTSU Strategic Plan, senior exit exams and surveys.Institutional Research provides data and analysis through a variety of sources including the MTSU Fact Book, Common Data Set, and the Power BI dashboards. IR participates in a number of external surveys and data collections.
